2025 BJ Media Awards Finalists

The winners will be announced at the 2025 BJ Media Awards Night Ceremony at Tempe HS on Wednesday, December 10th from 6-8pm.


Here are the 2025 BJ Media award finalists. (Note: all stats are from the regular season and do not include the postseason.) 


Tackle Football Awards Finalists


Offensive Player of the Year


Past Winners: Jamar Malone (‘22), Demond Williams (‘23), Dezmen Roebuck (‘24). 


Roye Oliver, Hamilton WR: Roye Oliver has had one of the most dominant seasons in Arizona high school football history. He holds the single-season 6A receiving touchdown record with 27, and to go along with that, he hauled in 1598 receiving yards this season. Oliver has been a huge reason why Hamilton was able to go 10-0 in the regular season due to his dominance on the field. 


Will Mencl, Chandler: Will Mencl really emerged onto the scene in 2025. He was given the keys to Chandler's offense, and he did not disappoint. He threw for 3209 yards and rushed for 479. He also had 41 total touchdowns this season, helping Chandler back to a top contender. 


D’Mari Bryant, Millennium RB:  What D’Mari Bryant did this season is something only seen in video games or TV shows. He helped lead Millennium to a good season with his 1895 yards, 9.5 yards per carry, and 31 total touchdowns.


Jax Sculley, Hamilton QB: After not playing much in 2024 due to injury, Jax Sculley emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in Arizona in 2025. Sculley had 2947 passing yards and 43 passing touchdowns and helped lead Hamilton to the #1 seed in the open division this season. Sculley has been torching defenses all season in a tough 6A conference. 


Blake Roskopf, Desert Edge QB: Blake Roskopf is a four-star recruit and had a stellar junior season. He helped lead Desert Edge to a 10-0 regular season record with his 2639 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, cementing himself as one of the best players in Arizona. 


Daryl Little, Thunderbird WR: Daryl Little put together one of the best receiving performances this year in Arizona as an underclassman. He had 1415 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns on the season. Little has proven himself to be a WR1 and one of the best players in the state. 


Donivan Dixon, Cactus Shadows QB: Donivan Dixon was the winner of the 2024 BJ Media QB of the Year award, and in 2025, he followed up with another amazing season. The Northern Arizona commit passed for 2732 yards, rushed for 1142, and had 41 total touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Year


Past Winners: Anthony Ruiz (‘22), Noah Carter (‘23), Hudson Dunn (‘24). 


Derrick LeBlanc, Hamilton DE: Derrick LeBlanc was one of the main players teams gameplanned for when going against Hamilton. LeBlanc went against some of the best offensive lines in Arizona and still made an impact. He had 11.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, and seven forced fumbles in 2025.


Hudson Dunn, Liberty OLB: Hudson Dunn was a key contributor to a great Liberty defense this season. Dunn, who won the 2024 BJ Media Defensive Player of the Year, had eight sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, and even four pass breakups to help out what is a top defense. 


Zeth Angel Thues, Liberty SS:  Arizona State commit Zeth Angel Thues had a spectacular senior campaign. He snagged four interceptions, had four pass breakups, and 40 tackles on the season for a great Liberty defense. 


Antonio Para, Desert Edge SS: Antonio Para was a difference maker for Desert Edge’s defense this season. Para had 92 tackles as a defensive back, which is amazing, as well as 20 tackles for loss, five sacks, and three blocked punts. 


Cooper Kraus, Buena LB: Cooper Kraus was great in run support this year for Buena. He had 157 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and added five sacks to go along with his great season and help Buena to the playoffs.


Dante Bruley, Basha OLB: Dante Bruley was one of the best players on a stacked Basha defense. He made his presence known in the trenches as he had 13 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, and four pass breakups.


Mikyal Davis, Desert Edge DB: After winning the 2024 BJ Media Underclassmen Player of the Year award, Mikyal Davis only improved. In 2025, the four-star recruit had 10 pass breakups, one interception, and 31 tackles on the season.


Van Merkley, Combs LB:  Van Merkley was a leader and a big part of the turnaround for Combs. He had 104 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and helped lead Combs to an 8-2 record in 2025.

Special Teams Player of the Year


Past Winners: Matthew Krneta (‘22), Timothy Tyan (‘23), Jamar Beal-Goines (‘24). 


Mikey Barth, Basha K: Mikey Barth has proven to be one of the best kickers in the state of Arizona. He has yet to miss a PAT this year, going 54/54, and is 10/11 with field goals, his longest field goal of the season being from 52 yards out. Barth holds a D-1 offer from Arizona State and is one of the best special teamers in the state.


Robert Bell, Cactus KR: Robert Bell has been one of the most electrifying kickoff return players in 2025. Bell averaged a ridiculous 57.6 yards per kickoff return and had four return touchdowns. Always making impact plays, Bell is one of the most impactful special teamers in Arizona. 


Riley Carson, Mica Mountain K/P/KR/PR: Riley Carson does it all on special teams. Carson's kicking was accurate in 2025, going 30/32 on PATs and 8/10 on field goals. Not only did he kick, but he also returned kicks, scoring two punt return touchdowns and one kickoff return touchdown. Carson is one of the more dynamic special teams players. 


Palmer Podwika, Horizon K: Palmer Podwika has had one of the best legs since he started playing for Horizon. He went perfect on PATs, going 47/47, and went 8/10 on field goal attempts, with his longest make being 49 yards.


Ryder Noche, Brophy KR: Ryder Noche has been a staple returner in Arizona since he stepped foot on the field. In 2025, Noche averaged 40 yards per return and had one touchdown to go along with it.


Jonathan Guy, Gilbert KR: Jonathan Guy helped Gilbert with his efficient kick and punt returning this season. He averaged 42.2 yards per kickoff return with four touchdowns. He also returned two punts for 45 yards and one touchdown. 


Francisco Orduno, Mountain Pointe K: Francisco Orduno has one of the strongest legs in Arizona and has been one of the kickers in the state. The Northern Arizona commit had a near-perfect season, going 34/35 on PATs and 12/12 on field goals, with his longest one of the season being 51 yards. 


Brayden Baker, Chaparral K/P: Brayden Baker was one of the best combo kicker/punter players in 2025. He went 27/28 on PATs, 4/6 on field goals. On the punting side, he had 1375 yards with his longest punt of the season going for a ridiculous 71 yards. 


Evan Romero, Mesa K/P: Evan Romero was a big staple on special teams for Mesa in 2025. Romero went 27/30 on PATs, 11/18 on field goals, with his longest being from 47 yards. He also averaged 37 yards per punt with his longest punt being 55 yards.


Mikey Cruz, Shadow Ridge KR/PR: Mikey Cruz dared teams to kick to him this season with his electric speed. He averaged 33.8 yards per kickoff return and had two touchdowns. He helped Shadow Ridge anytime he touched the ball on return plays. 


Honorable Mentions: Jackson Carson (Brophy K), Benjamin Wolfley (Trivium Prep KR/PR), Austin Chaves (Deer Valley K), Isaiah Helmkamp (Eastmark K)



Two-Way Player of the Year


Past Winners: Elias Johnson (‘22), Tyton Slade (‘23), Nathan Spivey (‘24). 


Jeffrey Smith III, Marana RB/LB: Jeffrey Smith III has put together one of the best rushing seasons in 2025. He had 1010 yards on the ground and 14 total touchdowns. Smith III has helped lead Marana to a 9-1 record. He was also great on defense with 81 tackles and two interceptions. He even blocked two kicks on special teams. 


Kameron Williams, Mesa ATH: Kameron Williams played great on both sides of the ball while going against some of the best competition in Arizona. On defense, he was one of the best defensive backs, recording 7 interceptions and 6 pass breakups. On offense, he hauled in 377 yards and four touchdowns. 


Gunnar Perry, NDP LB/RB: Gunnar Perry made a name for himself with his ability to play on both sides of the ball. Being a leader of the defense, he had 105 tackles, three interceptions, one of which went back for six points. On offense, he helped with the rushing attack as he compiled 364 yards and eight touchdowns. 


Joe Yoney, Mohave QB/DB: It’s not often that a starting quarterback also plays defense, but Joe Yoney did just that. On offense, he threw for 2260 yards, rushed for 890, and had 41 total touchdowns. Defensively, he was a fantastic defensive back as he had six interceptions and seven pass breakups. 


Jayden Thomas, Buena WR/DB: Jayden Thomas was elite on both sides of the ball for Buena this season. On offense, he had 703 receiving yards and caught 12 touchdowns. He played defensive back, too, having five interceptions and 10 pass breakups. 


Riley Carson, Mica Mtn WR/DB: Riley Carson did a little bit of everything this season for Mica Mtn. He hauled in 443 yards and five touchdowns while on defens, he had 14 tackles, one interception, and two pass breakups. 


TJ Fo’ilefutu, Liberty ATH: TJ Fo’ilefutu is a part of a great Liberty team and has found himself being impactful on both sides of the ball. He had 327 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns. Then on defense, he forced three fumbles and had five tackles for loss. 


Cooper Cronk, Lee Williams WR/DB: Cooper Cronk helped Lee Williams to a winning record in 2025 with his two-way ability. Cronk caught 556 yards and had nine touchdowns. On the defensive side, he was a ball hawk with five interceptions and six pass breakups. 


Jaden Rodgers, Cienega: Jaden Rodgers was a playmaker on both sides of the ball in 2025. He was a home run target on offense, having 814 receiving yards (21.4 yards per catch) and catching nine touchdowns. On defense, he came away with one pick, forced one fumble, and had 15 tackles. 


Honorable mentions: Jamar Patterson (CDS), Jaron Liles (Queen Creek), TJ Walker (Buena), Wyatt Rauch (Campo Verde), Jaydon Wiseman (Saguaro), Talen Frazier (Perry), Brandon Hadnot (Sierra Linda)



Offensive Underclassman of the Year


Past Winners: Donivan Dixon (‘23), Noah Roberts (‘24).

Jaylee Abraham, Desert View RB: Jaylee Abraham’s performance in 2025 helped turn around an entire program. Abraham had incredible numbers that include 1421 rushing yards (10.1 yards per carry) and 30 total touchdowns. Desert View went 3-7 in 2024, but with Abraham’s dominance, he helped lead them to a 10-0 record in 2025. 


Byron Brandon, Desert Edge RB: On a team full of stars, underclassmen might have to sit on the bench until they are juniors and seniors. Not Byron Brandon, though. Brandon had 949 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns in just three games with Desert Edge. Brandon has made a name for himself in Arizona and will only get better.

Amos Augustine, Perry WR: Amos Augustine is a three-star recruit who has been a part of a great offense with Perry. He hauled in 668 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. Augustine is already a proven receiver who projects to get better.


Devante Roebuck, Hamilton RB: Not seeing the field much in 2024, Devante Roebuck was part of one of the best rushing attacks in the state with Hamilton. Roebuck had 390 rushing yards and averaged 6.4 yards per carry. Roebuck holds multiple D-1 offers and projects to get even better in his upperclassmen years. 


Honorable mentions: Dayne Silver (Eastmark), Luke Horn (St. Mary’s), Titus Hill (Cen10), Torrin Hill (Cen10), Karmello Calloway (Cen10), Isaac Buchanan (Maryvale), Aiden Rodriguez (Mtn Pointe), Jamier McKinney (Mtn Pointe), Lincoln Maggard (Mica Mtn), Sonny Norwood (Mtn Pointe), Drake Davis (Mtn View Marana)



Defensive Underclassman of the Year


Past Winners: Hudson Dunn (‘23), Mikyal Davis (‘24). 


Jalanie George, Desert Edge DE: Being the 2nd highest-ranked player nationally in the 2028 class, Jalanie George has been living up to the hype. George was impactful for Desert Edge this season, as he was able to get six sacks and 111.5 tackles for loss this season.


Ezra Spivey, Tucson DB: Ezra Spivey was flying all around the field for Tucson this season. Even as a defensive back, he was able to get an impressive 76 tackles, as well as four interceptions on the year, proving he’s already becoming one of the best defensive backs in Arizona. 


Sione Taueli, Mesa DE: Sione Taueli was great against the run game this season and created pressure on the quarterback. Taueli had 1.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 54 tackles on the season for Mesa.


Kacey Allen, Hamilton DB: Kacey Allen was not only a playmaker on the defensive side for Hamilton but also on special teams. On defense, he had two interceptions, five pass breaks, and 58 tackles. But what made him so special this season was that he also blocked five kicks while he played on special teams.  


Braden Krammer, Empire DB: Braden Krammer has made a name for himself as a ball hawk early in his career. He had six interceptions, three pass breakups, and 49 tackles. Krammer is already excellent in coverage in his young career.  


Ian Fullmer, Pinnacle DE: Ian Fullmer was dominant in the trenches this year for Pinnacle. He had 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Pinnacle faced a lot of great offenses this year, and Fullmer stepped up to the challenge to be a presence on the defensive line. 


Keaton Fields, Hamilton DB: Keaton Fields proved to be impressive as an underclassman while facing top wide receivers all season long. Fields had three interceptions, three pass breakups, and five tackles for loss for Hamilton this year. 


Honorable Mentions: Motuhifonua Ngaue-Stephenson (Mesa), Nekhi Lambeth (Desert Edge), Jaelyn Flores (Desert Edge), Kye Wells (Desert Edge), Landen Miguel Wade (Basha)


Freshman of the Year


Past Winners: Jayden Pico (‘22), Cam Allen (‘23), Roye Oliver (‘24). 


Kevin Smith, Maryvale DE/TE: Kevin Smith came in as a freshman and made an immediate impact on a rebuilding Maryvale team. Smith was a solid pass rusher, having five sacks and 10 tackles for loss. 


Roman Oliver, Hamilton WR: Roman Oliver played along side his brother Roye Oliver this season, and he also made a great impact on Hamilton’s offense. As a freshman, he caught 479 yards and five touchdowns in just nine games. 


Sonny Norwood, Mtn Pointe ATH: Sonny Norwood did everything on offense in his first year of high school football. Norwood had 618 total yards of offense with 10 total touchdowns. Whatever Mountain Pointe needed from him, he delivered. 


Alani Folaumoeloa, Mesa OL/DL: Alani Folaumoeloa as a just a freshman played on both sides of the trenches for Mesa. When he wasn’t blocking on offense, he was on defense, as he had 32 total tackles and seven tackles for loss. 


Anthony Rodarte, Desert View WR: Helping lead the turnaround for Desert View was Anthony Rodarte. Rodarte solidified himself as a WR1 as he caught 694 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman. 


Dylan Brush, Horizon RB: Dylan Brush played in an already stacked rushing room in Horizon, but still made a name for himself. He ran effectively as he averaged 10.5 yards per carry and had nine rushing touchdowns. 


Yuen Taufete’e, Brophy OL: Yuen Taufete’e had hype going into the season as he is viewed as one of the best linemen in Arizona for the 2029 class. He lived up to the hype, helping a great Brophy offensive line against one of the toughest schedules in 6A. 


Honorable Mentions: CJ Smith (Desert Sunrise), Ryan Trocki (Chaparral), Bishop Allen (Brophy), Colin Itule (Brophy), Ethan Byrd (Lee Williams), Colin Godfrey (Cactus Shadows), AJ Anderson (Mtn Pointe), Alijah Cross (Maryvale), Michael Rivera (McClintock), Ricki Guilford (Maryvale), Lekie Sika (Sahuaro)



Offensive Impact Transfer of the Year


Past Winners: Nikko Boncore (‘24).


Caleb Tafua, Mesa TE: There is a reason why Caleb Tafua is going to be playing SEC football soon. The transfer TE helped Mesa as he had 460 receiving yards and three touchdowns to make the most out of his five games. 


Messan Alokpovi, Maryvale QB: Messan Alokpovi was spectacular this season for Maryvale. He helped resurge the program with his 20 passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns in only five games. 


Jhaheem Brown, Desert Edge WR: In what was already a stacked team, Jhaheem Brown added to the firepower after he sat out for the first five games. Brown had 458 receiving yards and four touchdowns. 


Julien Alokpovi - Maryvale WR: Julien Alokpovi became a lead target for Maryvale’s offense as soon as he was able to play. He caught 551 yards with a ridiculous 34.44 yards per catch and nine touchdowns. 


Khalil Bender, ALA Queen Creek WR: Khalil Bender made an instant impact when he was able to play with ALA Queen Creek. ALA Queen Creek went 5-0 in the games Bender played, as he hauled in 458 yards and eight total touchdowns. 


Dom Carmigiano, Red Mtn QB: Dom Carmigiano helped redefine Red Mountain's offense this season. He commanded the offense right away and threw for 1020 yards and 11 passing touchdowns in his limited games. 


Kane Anetema, Mesa QB: Kane Anetema was a big transfer that Mesa got mid-season. He threw for 1040 yards and eight passing touchdowns to help Mesa get into the playoffs. 


Miles Woods, Maryvale WR: Miles Woods was a main target for Maryvale this season as he had 300 receiving yards, 70 yards per game, and hauled in seven touchdowns and rushed for one too. 


Tee Smith, Casteel QB: Tee Smith was one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in Arizona and only played five games. He stepped in and helped Casteel win games. He threw for 1351 passing yards and had 21 total touchdowns in five games. 


Trae Walker, Desert Sunrise QB: Trae Walker made the most out of his five games this season, as he did amazingly. He threw 15 passing touchdowns with only one interception and scampered into the end zone 10 times as well.


Honorable Mentions: Aidan Whitaker (McClintock), Dayvon Standard (Desert Edge), Kingston Anetema (Mesa), LeGarrette Blount Jr (Mtn Pointe), Logan Ray (Hamilton), Mekhi Hodge (Mtn Pointe), Joel Cooper (Shadow Ridge), Cooper Payne (Tanque Verde)

 

Defensive Impact Transfer


Past Winners: Jerry Washington (‘24). 


LeGarrette Blount Jr, Mtn Pointe DB: LeGarrette Blount Jr was an instant game-changer as soon as he was eligible to play for Mtn Pointe. In only five games, he had one interception and four pass breakups. 


Mason Lewis, Basha DB: Mason Lewis is a Vanderbilt commit and helped what was already a great secondary room at Basha. Lewis faced some of the best receivers and had one interception, two pass breakups, and 16 tackles. 


Kingston Anetema, Mesa ATH: Kingston Anetema came from California mid-season, but his time in Arizona this year was great. He was all over the field for Mesa, having two interceptions, two pass breakups, and 17 tackles.


Miles Woods, Maryvale ATH: Miles Woods not only played well on offense but also defended. He had two interceptions, one of which was a pick-six, and 25 tackles for Maryvale in just the five games he played. 


Honorable Mentions: Amr Hassan (Canyon View), Mekhi Hodge (Mtn Pointe), Greg McKinstry III (Desert View)


Small Ball Player of the Year


Past Winners: JJ Brutus (‘24). 


Benjamin Wolfley, Trivium Prep ATH: Benjamin Wolfley was dominant in all three phases of the ball this year for Trivium Prep. On offense, he rushed for 1490 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had three kickoff return touchdowns, then on defense, he snagged five interceptions, two of which were pick-sixes.


Gavin Wyler, Ben Franklin QB: Gavin Wyler commanded one of the best offenses in the state this year and helped lead Ben Franklin to a dominant 10-0 season. Wyler had 1907 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns with only two interceptions thrown. 


Ammon Alexander, Ben Franklin OL: Ammon Alexander is a three-star recruit for Ben Franklin. Alexander was a crucial part in not only protecting his quarterback but also helping Ben Franklin's ground game be efficient. 


Talan Speir, Ben Franklin WR/DB: Talan Speir was the number one target for an explosive Ben Franklin offense and played on defense, too. On offense, he had 1108 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, while on defense, he snagged five interceptions. 


Zachari Haley, Sabino RB: Zachari Haley was a dual-threat running back this season for Sabino. On the ground, he had 950 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. While on the receiving side, he had 610 receiving yards and caught nine touchdowns in 2025.


Jett Walker, Show Low RB/DB: Jett Walker was an impactful player on both sides of the ball for Show Low this season. On defense, he had two interceptions, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles. While on offense, he rushed for 685 yards and had 17 total touchdowns. 


Julien Aragon, Morenci RB: Julien Aragon was a dominant running back for Morenci in 2025. He rushed for 1255 yards, 125.5 yards per game, and had 16 total touchdowns this season. 


Sean Helgeson, Scottsdale Christian QB: Coming off a 2A championship win in 2024, Sean Helgeson played even better this year. He threw for 2172 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, with only five interceptions this year for Scottsdale Christian. 


Aaron Crawford, Chandler Prep WR/DB: Aaron Crawford was a crucial part of the success that Chandler Prep had this season. Playing both sides, Crawford on offense had 903 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, then on defense, he snagged two interceptions and had 38 tackles.


Aaron Whitten, Phoenix Christian DE/RB: Aaron Whitten was not only dominant on the ground for Phoenix Christian, but he was dominant in the trenches, too. He rushed for 960 yards and had 17 total touchdowns, then on defense, he had 13 sacks and 18 tackles for loss. 


Baylor Arnold, Veritas Prep DB/WR: Baylor Arnold was a crucial piece on both sides of the ball this season for Veritas Prep. On defense, he was catching everything as he came away with eight interceptions. Then on offense, he had 594 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. 


Brian Valentino, San Carlos ATH: Brian Valentino was one of the better running backs this season in Arizona. He rushed for 1071 yards and had an efficient 10.5 yards per carry, and also had nine rushing touchdowns.


Caleb Goldman, Valley Christian RB: Caleb Goldman helped Valley Christian to a great season with his impact on the offense. Goldman rushed for 1107 yards and had 14 total touchdowns on offense. 


Dom Dickerson, Scottsdale Christian WR/DB: Dom Dickerson did a little bit of everything this season for Scottsdale Christian. On offense, he had 628 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, while on defense, he was able to snag two interceptions and have 17 pass breakups. 


Kody Dodson, Chandler Prep QB: Kody Dodson was great under center this season for Chandler Prep. He threw for 2070 yards and 23 touchdowns and scampered into the end zone six times. He was also able to snag two interceptions on defense.

Blake Roskopf, Desert Edge: Blake Roskopf is a four-star recruit and had a stellar junior season. He helped lead Desert Edge to a 10-0 regular season record with his 2639 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. 


Donivan Dixon, Cactus Shadows: Donivan Dixon was the winner of the 2024 BJ Media QB of the Year award, and in 2025, he followed up with another amazing season. The Northern Arizona commit passed for 2732 yards, rushed for 1142, and had 41 total touchdowns.


Will Mencl, Chandler: Will Mencl really emerged onto the scene in 2025. He was given the keys to Chandler's offense, and he did not disappoint. He threw for 3209 yards and rushed for 479. He also had 41 total touchdowns this season. 


Colten Meyer, Marana: The gunslinger down south, Colten Meyer, was amazing this season. He threw for over 3000 yards and had 37 passing touchdowns. Meyer leads a very good Marana team. 


Jax Sculley, Hamilton: After not playing much in 2024 due to injury, Jax Sculley emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in Arizona in 2025. Sculley had 2947 passing yards and 43 passing touchdowns and helped lead Hamilton to the #1 seed in the open division this season. Sculley has been torching defenses all season in a tough 6A conference. 


Evan Heinrich, ACP: After moving up to 5A, people had their doubts about ACP, but Evan Heinrich and his team silenced the doubters. Heinrich is one of the most efficient quarterbacks as he has only thrown one interception in his career so far. He threw 1575 yards and had 22 total touchdowns, also. 


Zach Smith, Arcadia: Arcadia took down everyone in their way this season behind the arm of Zach Smith. Smith had 1948 passing yards and 27 total touchdowns this season with only four interceptions. 


Brady Goodman, Mountain View: Brady Goodman built off his 2024 campaign with a great 2025 season. Goodman threw for 1579 passing yards and had 34 total touchdowns in nine games. The Utah State commit put together a great senior year. 


Isaac Soliz, Gila Ridge: Isaac Soliz helped revitalize Gila Ridge this season with his passing. Soliz had 1840 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns with just four interceptions in 2025. 


Ryan Vasavilbaso, Desert View: Ryan Vasavilbaso was a key factor in the success and turnaround for Desert View this season. Vasavilbaso threw 25 passing touchdowns with only two interceptions on the year.

Jaylee Abraham, Desert View: Jaylee Abraham’s performance in 2025 helped turn around an entire program. Abraham had incredible numbers that include 1421 rushing yards (10.1 yards per carry) and 30 total touchdowns. Desert View went 3-7 in 2024, but with Abraham’s dominance, he helped lead them to a 10-0 record in 2025. 


Chuck Van Dyke, Paradise Honors: Chuck Van Dyke compiled one of the best seasons in Arizona this season. He rushed for 1813 yards and 20 touchdowns to become one of the best running backs this season. 


D’Mari Bryant, Millennium: What D’Mari Bryant did this season is something only seen in video games or TV shows. He helped lead Millennium to a good season with his 1895 yards, 9.5 yards per carry, and 31 total touchdowns. 


Keshawn Barkus, Westwood: In just nine games, Keshawn Barkus had 207 carries and made the most out of every one. He rushed for 1500 yards and had 18 total touchdowns, becoming one of the biggest impact players for Westwood. 


Bodie Zamarano, Horizon: Bodie Zamarano has been a difference maker for multiple years now for Horizon. He rushed for 1164 yards with 7 yards per carry. He also had eight rushing touchdowns to go along with it. 


Kenyon Rosenthal, ALAWF: Kenyon Rosenthal had a fantastic season for ALA West Foothills. He had 1336 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns to make his mark as a top back in Arizona. 


Kylin Jackson, Bradshaw Mtn: Kylin Jackson was the workhorse for Bradshaw Mtn this season, and for good reason. He had 1449 yards on the ground and 18 touchdowns. Jackson was a main staple for Bradshaw Mtn. 


Michael Lujan, Buena: Michael Lujan helped Buena have a great rushing attack this season. Lujan rushed for 1455 yards with 17 total touchdowns. Lujan capped off his high school career with a great season. 


Parker Kaczmarek, Mesquite: Parker Kaczmarek seemed to find the end zone at all times this season. He compiled 1457 rushing yards and had a ridiculous 25 total touchdowns to help lead Mesquite to crucial wins. 


Courshawn Hill, Williams Field: Courshawn Hill is a three-star San Jose commit that defenses fear playing against. Hill ran for 1212 yards while also having 19 total touchdowns to help propel Williams Field this season. 


Jayden Simmons, Flowing Wells: Jayden Simmons was one of the most efficient running backs this season. He ran for 1173 yards on 9.5 yards per carry. He found the end zone 19 times this season as well. 


Brenner Green, Snowflake: Having a lot of success this season was Brenner Green. He helped Snowflakes' offense be electric as he rushed for 1108 yards and had 23 total touchdowns.


Lucas Leist, Lee Williams: Lucas Leist was a big part of the winning season that Lee Williams put together in 2025. He was dominant on the ground with 1449 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns to go along with it.


Noah Chanez, Tucson: Noah Chanez was one of the best dual-ability running backs this year. He rushed for 1001 yards and 12 touchdowns. Then if that wasn’t good enough, he hauled in 657receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Roye Oliver, Hamilton: Roye Oliver has had one of the most dominant seasons in Arizona high school football history. He holds the single-season 6A receiving touchdown record with 27, and to go along with that, he hauled in 1598 receiving yards this season. Oliver has been a huge reason why Hamilton was able to go 10-0 in the regular season due to his dominance on the field. 


Daryl Little, Thunderbird: Daryl Little put together one of the best receiving performances this year in Arizona as an underclassman. He had 1415 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns on the season. Little has proven himself to be a WR1 and one of the best players in the state. 


Rico Blassingame, Tolleson: Breaking a 1000-yard season this year was Rico Blassingame. The three-star Minnesota commit not only had 1000 receiving yards, but he also found the end zone 14 times for Tolleson. 


Kash Brock, Basha: Kash Brock is the definition of right time and right place. Any time Basha needed a play, he was there to make it. The three-star Colorado State commit had 768 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns for Basha. 


Robert Bell, Cactus: Robert Bell was a touchdown machine this season for Cactus. He was a huge part of the offense’s success as he had 952 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns on offense.


Anthony Cannon, St. Mary’s: Anthony Cannon was one of the best players for St. Mary’s and one of the best players in Arizona this year. Cannon had 1140 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with it in 2025.


Devin Fitzgerald, Brophy: Devin Fitzgerald has put together a stellar high school career. The four-star Notre Dame commit had 867 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while facing some of the best secondaries in Arizona to cap off his senior season. 


Joseph Watts-Diver, Valley Vista: In only nine games played this season, Joseph Watts-Diver was still able to be near the top of receiving yards in Arizona this year. He had 1209 receiving yards and averaged 134.3 per game while also catching nine touchdowns. 


Jai Jones, Chandler: Jai Jones was a homerun playmaker for Chandler this season. The junior had 864 receiving yards and nine touchdowns to help Chandler make the open division bye. 


Jaden Rodgers, Cienega: Jaden Rodgers was a playmaker on both sides of the ball in 2025. He was a homerun target on offense, having 814 receiving yards (21.4 yards per catch) and catching nine touchdowns.


Skyler Ormita, Chandler: Even though he faced multiple great defenses this season, Skyler Ormita took on the challenge and excelled. In 2025, he had 658 receiving yards and six touchdowns for Chandler.

TE of the Year


Past Winners: Duce Robinson (‘22), Ryan Wolfer (‘23), Aveon Williams (‘24). 


Aveon Williams, Casa Grande: The 2024 BJ Media TE of the Year, Aveon Williams, put together another impressive season. He had 486 receiving yards and was a big end zone target, catching nine touchdowns for Casa Grande. 


Luke Johnson, Lake Havasu: Lake Havasu had an impressive season, and part of that success was from the help of Luke Johnson. Johnson not only had 490 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, but he was a goalline threat too, having 260 rushing yards and a ridiculous 17 rushing touchdowns. 


Alex Dafnis, Cactus Shadows: Alex Dafnis was a crucial part of a high-powered Cactus Shadows offense this season. Dafnis had 677 receiving yards, hauled in eight touchdowns, and additionally ran in for three this season.


Bear Fisher, Queen Creek: Bear Fisher always makes his presence known when he is out on the field. The three-star Utah commit had 332 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season for Queen Creek. 


Kamden Seagall, Liberty: Kamden Seagall put together another impressive season for Liberty in 2025. He was a safety blanket for his offense as the Eastern Washington commit had 505 receiving yards and caught eight touchdowns this year. 


Torrin Hill, Centennial: Torrin Hill is a big target for Centennial and made an impact on a great offense. Hill had 376 receiving yards and four touchdowns while facing some of the best teams in 6A.

OL of the Year


Past Winners: Caleb Lomu (‘22), Carter Lavrusky (‘23), Riggs Anderson (‘24). 


Jake Hildebrand, Basha: Jake Hildebrand is one of the best offensive linemen in the state, and he proved that this season. The four-star recruit was a key part of Basha having a dominant passing and rushing game this year. 


Rex Waterman, Hamilton: Rex Waterman had the task of going against some of the best defensive linemen in the state, and he excelled. The three-star Nebraska commit was a contributor to Hamilton getting the #1 seed in the Open Division. 


Collin Campbell, Williams Field: Collin Campbell is a four-star Michigan State commit for Williams Field. Campbell helped Williams Field get back to a winning record this season and was a crucial part of their run success. 


DaJohn Yarborough, Basha: DaJohn Yarborough’s presence alone is enough to make defenses worry. He is a tall, big lineman who helped Basha obtain a great regular season record and an Open Division bye. 


Malachi Joyner, Williams Field: Malachi Joyner was a big part of the success of the great offensive line for Williams Field. Williams Field had a great run game, and that was from the help of Joyner. 


Ammon Alexander, Ben Franklin: Ammon Alexander is a three-star recruit for Ben Franklin. Alexander was a crucial part in not only protecting his quarterback but also helping Ben Franklin's ground game be efficient. 


Jalayne Miller, Desert Edge: Jalayne Miller put together another great season for Desert Edge. The four-star Stanford commit was a key contributor in the trenches to help Desert Edge go 10-0. 


Tye Kennedy, Mountain View Mesa: Mountain View Mesa has been a staple football program in the last few years, thanks to players like Tye Kennedy. Kennedy, who holds multiple D-1 offers, was one of the best offensive linemen this season. 


Aaron Thomas, Mountain Pointe: Aaron Thomas has been a staple at Mountain Pointe, and he continued that this season. The three-star recruit was a difference maker in a young Mountain Pointe team. 


Lafaele Folaumoeloa, Mesa: Lafaele Folaumoeloa was an impactful player for Mesa. He has helped them to a 6-4 record and made it into the playoffs while facing some great competition in 6A.


Shane Reiersgaard, Brophy: Shane Reiersgaard helped Brophy to some key wins over tough 6A opponents this season. Brophy relied on him in order to get their ground game and passing game going.

Derrick LeBlanc, Hamilton: Derrick LeBlanc was one of the main players teams gameplanned for when going against Hamilton. LeBlanc went against some of the best offensive lines in Arizona and still made an impact. He had 11.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, and seven forced fumbles in 2025.


Andrei Davis-Lopez, Cienega: Andrei Davis-Lopez put up video game numbers this season for Cienega. He had an impressive 21 sacks and 26 tackles for loss this year. While also making an impact on special teams as he blocking two field goals. 


Dante Bruley, Basha: Dante Bruley was one of the best players on a stacked Basha defense. He made his presence known in the trenches as he had 13 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, and four pass breakups.


Hudson Dunn, Liberty: Hudson Dunn was a key contributor to a great Liberty defense this season. Dunn had eight sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, and even four pass breakups to help out what is a top defense. 


Samuel Pearson, Combs: Combs put together a great season, going 8-2, and some of that help was from the contribution Samuel Pearson made. Pearson was dominant, having 21 sacks and an impressive 34.5 tackles for loss this year. 


Justin Elder, Marana: Justin Elder was a force down south for Marana in 2025. Elder helped lead an impressive Marana squad behind his 11.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, and 43 tackles on the season.


Nathan Jones, NDP: Nathan Jones is a three-star recruit for Notre Dame Prep and had a stellar 2025 season. Jones collected 11.5 sacks, 23.5 tackles for loss, and 80 tackles on the season. 


Steven Valdez, Walden Grove: Steven Valdez was one of the biggest bright spots for Walden Grove this year with his play on the defensive line. The New Mexico State commit had 11 sacks, 29 tackles for loss, and even blocked a field goal this year. 


Andy Rodriguez, Gila Ridge: Andy Rodriguez is one of two finalists on the defensive line for Gila Ridge, and he played great. Rodriguez had 12 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and blocked two punts.


Drew Caudle, Gila Ridge: Drew Caudle is one of two finalists on the defensive line for Gila Ridge, and he was one of the best in Arizona this year. Caudle finished the regular season with 14 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles. 


Jeremiah Adams-Curry, Copper Canyon: It seemed like Jeremiah Adams-Curry was always in the backfield this season. The linemen had 24 sacks on the year, 28 tackles for loss, and 89 tackles to go along with it. 


Tyler Burnstein, Liberty: Tyler Burnstein helped Liberty not only be one of the best defenses in the state but also one of the best teams. He had 7 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss, and 49 tackles this year for Liberty.

Broden Schmidt, Mica Mountain: Broden Schmidt did a little bit of everything for Mica Mountain this year. He had 106 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and even blocked two punts on special teams. 


Bryson Bowman, Eastmark: Bryson Bowman was everywhere on the field this year for Eastmark. He had 167 tackles, which is unheard of, 12 tackles for loss, and three interceptions in 2025. 


Cooper Kraus, Buena: Cooper Kraus was great in run support this year for Buena. He had 157 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and added five sacks to go along with his great season and help Buena to the playoffs.


Van Merkley, Combs: Van Merkley was a leader and a big part of the turnaround for Combs. He had 104 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and helped lead Combs to an 8-2 record. 


Dax White, Higley: Dax White helped lead Higley to a solid season in 6A and into the playoffs. White collected 116 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and five sacks this season for the Knights. 


Eli Cramer-Cronin, Basha: Eli Cramer-Cronin commanded the middle of the field this season for Basha. Cramer-Cronin had 14.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two interceptions to help lead one of the best defensive units in Arizona. 


Jameson Wade, Red Mountain: Jameson Wade is one of the best players on a great Red Mountain defense. Wade, who holds multiple D-1 offers, had 107 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and blocked two kicks in 2025. 


Jaylyn Colter, Mountain Pointe: Jaylyn Colter is one of the leaders on Mountain Pointe with his excellent play. In 2025, he had 107 tackles, 10 sacks, and a pick-six. He did everything and anything for his team this season. 


Ezekiel Estep, Mesa: Anything that Mesa asked of Ezekiel Estep, he delivered. He contributed in multiple ways for Mesa as he had 103 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and one sack on the season. 


Gunnar Perry, NDP:  Gunnar Perry was a force in the middle of the field for Notre Dame Prep. Being a leader of the defense, he had 105 tackles, three interceptions, one of which went back for six points. 


Hayydn Nichols, Snowflake: Hayydn Nichols was a key contributor to the success Snowflake saw this season. Nichols did a lot for his team this year as he had 121 tackles, three interceptions, and blocked two kicks as well. 


Hunter Cotten, ALAWF: Hunter Cotten was a tackling machine this season for ALA West Foothills. He racked up 113 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and four sacks to round out his great season. 


Marc Duerson, Basha: Marc Duerson helped lead Basha to a 9-1 record and had one of the best defenses in 6A. Duerson had 88 tackles, six pass breakups ups and two tackles for loss this season for the Bears.

DB of the Year


Past Winners: Ja’khi Roberston (‘22), Iverson Small (‘23), Cree Thomas (‘24). 


Antonio Para, Desert Edge: Antonio Para was a difference maker for Desert Edge’s defense this season. Para had 92 tackles as a defensive back, which is amazing, as well as 20 tackles for loss, five sacks, and three blocked punts. 


Zeth Angel Thues, Liberty: Arizona State commit Zeth Angel Thues had a spectacular senior campaign. He snagged four interceptions, had four pass breakups, and 40 tackles on the season for a great Liberty defense. 


Niko Jandreau, Hamilton: Nik Jandreau only played seven games this season, but still was able to impact the game when he was on the field. In 2025, the three-star Oklahoma commit had 38 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups. 


Camren Hamiel, Desert Edge: Camren Hamiel was flying all over the turf this season for Desert Edge’s defense. The four-star Texas A&M commit collected 65 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and one interception this year. 


Kameron Williams, Mesa: Kameron Williams played great on both sides of the ball while going against some of the best competition in Arizona. On defense, he was one of the best defensive backs, having seven interceptions and six pass breakups. 


Ezra Spivey, Tucson:  Ezra Spivey was flying all around the field for Tucson this season. Even as a defensive back, he was able to get an impressive 76 tackles, as well as four interceptions on the year, proving he’s already becoming one of the best defensive backs in Arizona. 


Jaxsen Philistine, Walden Grove: Jaxsen Philistine was a key defensive piece to help Walden Grove make the playoffs this season. He helped in multiple areas as he had 48 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one interception, and four pass breakups. 


Kyser Wilson, Basha: Kyser Wilson helped lead what was one of the best secondary units in Arizona this season with Basha. He snagged three interceptions, had 56 tackles, and 13 tackles for loss for the Bears in 2025. 


Ryder Noche, Brophy: Ryder Noche has been one of the key pieces for Brophy since he started his high school career. On defense, this season, the three-star recruit had had three interceptions, 66 tackles, and three tackles for loss. 


Devin Taylor, Centennial: Devin Taylor helped lead Centennial’s defense to a great season in 2025 with his play. Taylor had three interceptions, one of which was a pick-six, three pass breakups, and 41 tackles. 


Hamisi Juma, Chandler: Hamisi Juma was one of the key players for the resurgence of Chandler this season. The three-star Arizona commit had two interceptions, four pass breakups, and 17 tackles for the Wolves in 2025. 


Mikyal Davis, Desert Edge: After winning the 2024 BJ Media Underclassmen Player of the Year award, Mikyal Davis only improved. In 2025, the four-star recruit had 10 pass breakups, one interception, and 31 tackles on the season.


Pharrell Hollister, Desert Sunrise: Anytime Pharrell Hollister is out on the field, he is finding ways to make a play. On defense, he had six interceptions and 56 tackles, and even blocked four field goals this season. 


Tyreke Cornett, Red Mountain: Tyreke Cornett was an interception machine this season for Red Mountain. He had seven interceptions as well as 19 tackles and one forced fumble in 2025.

Past Winners: Colin Thomas (‘23), Andy Litten (‘24). 


Danny Norris, Ben Franklin: Since being named the head coach for Ben Franklin, Danny Norris has changed the program. He led his team to a 10-0 record in the regular season and had made every team he faced look miles behind his team. 


Travis Dixon, Hamilton: Since the Open Division has been a thing, Travis Dixon has led Hamilton to it. In 2025, he went a perfect 10-0 against a lot of great teams. It didn’t matter who Hamilton played; Dixon found a way to win. 


Jessica Slaughter, Gila Ridge: After missing the playoffs in 2024, Jessica Slaughter knew they could turn it around. She did just that as she led her team to a 9-1 record and the #6 seed in the 4A playoffs this season. 


Mark & Marcus Carter, Maryvale: The Twins, Mark and Marcus Carter are building something special at Maryvale. Maryvale has been looking for a spark for quite some time, and they brought it. They had a winning record, going 6-4, and helped lead Maryvale to its first region title since 2005. 


BJ Pasquel, Arcadia: Thanks to BJ Pasquel, Arcadia was one of the most dominant teams in 4A this season. They stomped their opponents almost every game and finished 10-0 with the #1 seed in the 4A playoffs.


Colin Thomas, Liberty: Colin Thomas has built something special at Liberty. He has once again led his team to the Open Division as they obtained the #3 seed. Liberty has yet to lose to an Arizona team since 2022. 


Robert Bonillas, Desert View: Robert Bonillas helped turn Desert View into one of the better teams in 5A this season. In 2024, Desert View went 3-7 and missed out on the playoffs. In 2025, they went 10-0 and claimed the #3 seed in 5A. 


Henri McArthur, Desert Edge: Henri McArthur is looking to build a dynasty at Desert Edge. He has developed some of his players into some of the best in the state and country. He led Desert Edge to a 10-0 record and the #1 seed in 5A. 


Trevor Reddick, Snowflake: Trevor Reddick is building a consistent winning program at Snowflake. Last season, they went 12-1, and he is continuing that pattern as he led his team to a 9-1 record and a #2 seed in the 4A playoffs. 


Ty Wisdom, Chandler: Ty Wisdom returned to Arizona high school football this year, and he did what he did best right away and which is win games. He led Chandler to the #4 seed in the Open Division and has Chandler looking like a powerhouse once again. 


JR Alcantar, Canyon View: JR Alcantar was looking to transform Canyon View into a football school, and this season, he did that. In 2024, Canyon View missed the playoffs as they went 3-7; however, this year, they not only made the playoffs, but Alcantar helped lead Canyon View to the #6 seed in 5A.

Alexis Eley, Highland QB: The jump that Alexis Eley took this year won’t go unnoticed. She was electric in every sense of the word this year for Highland. She had 3379 passing yards, 976 rushing yards, and 67 total touchdowns to lead Highland to the #1 seed in 6A. 


Emma Fishbeck, Mountain View Mesa WR: Emma Fishbeck was scoring touchdowns left and right for Mountain View Mesa this season. In 15 games, she hauled in 1580 receiving yards, 32 touchdown receptions, and two rushing touchdowns. 


Imani Campbell, XCP WR: Imani Campbell had a fantastic season for Xavier College Prep this year. She was unstoppable on offense at times, having 1425 receiving yards and 20 touchdown receptions to help lead XCP to the playoffs. 


Kayla Tacker, Casa Grande WR: Kayla Tacker won the BJ Media Defensive Player of the Year award in both 2023 and 2024, but she is now nominated for Offensive Player of the Year. Her versatility was on full display this season, as on offense she had 1259 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns. 


Malaysia Roebuck, Marana WR: Since the AIA sanctioned flag football back in 2023, Malaysia Roebuck has shown her dominance on the field. She did that again this year as she hauled in 1508 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns for Marana. 


Markiah Riley, Hamilton WR: Markiah Riley came onto the scene this year with Hamilton, and she excelled under the bright lights. In 2025, she had 1426 yards and 24 touchdown receptions for the Huskies. 


Marlie Phillips, Hamilton QB: What Marlie Phillips has done since her arrival at Hamilton is unheard of. This season, she threw a ridiculous 4986 passing yards and 91 touchdown passes. She has yet to lose a game since being under center for Hamilton. 


Samaya Taylor-Jenkins, Hamilton WR: Samaya Taylor-Jenkins has made a name for herself as one of the best flag football players in the entire country. She continued her dominance in her senior season this year with 1413 receiving yards and 27 touchdown receptions. 


Becky Currence, O’Connor WR: Even though she only played in 10 games this season, Becky Currence had a remarkable year. In 2025, she had 793 receiving yards and 10 touchdown receptions for O’Connor. 


Isabella Garcia, Marana QB: Isabella Garcia was one of the best quarterbacks in Arizona this year as just a freshman. She threw for 3586 passing yards, had 613 rushing yards, and 55 total touchdowns to lead Marana to the #2 seed in 6A. 


Jaiyana Bogan, Campo Verde WR: Jaiyana Bogan is a freshman, but she did not perform or look like one at all. She was dominant since game one and hauled in 873 receiving yards and 21 touchdown receptions for Campo Verde. 


Tierah Metcalf, Mountain View Mesa QB: Tierah Metcalf is in her third year of starting at Mountain View Mesa, and she continues to get better. In her junior season, she threw for 3372 yards, 41 touchdown passes, and 832 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns.

Ava Klene, Red Mtn R: Red Mountain has had one of the best defenses in Arizona, and some of that can be attributed to Ava Klene's pass rushing. In 2025, she had 42 sacks, 71 flag pulls, and three pass breakups for Red Mountain. 


Demi Woods, Hamilton R: Demi Woods is a part of one of the best defensive units in Arizona, and she is a main contributor. For Hamilton this season, Woods had 32 sacks, 72 flag pulls, and 10 pass breakups. 


Kayla Tacker, Casa Grande DB: Kayla Tacker won the BJ Media Defensive Player of the Year award in both 2023 and 2024, and she is once again in the running for 2025. This season, she had 16 interceptions, 16 pass breakups, and 55 flag pulls for Casa Grande. 


Kylie Riggs, Highland R: Highland had an amazing season, one of the reasons being their elite defense and how good Kylie Riggs was. She compiled 37 sacks, 74 flag pulls, and nine pass breakups in 2025.


Maggie Maneely, Prescott DB: Maggie Maneely has been a consistent force on defense, and she carried that into this season. For Prescott this year, she had 15 interceptions, 21 pass breakups, and 70 flag pulls.


Payton Davis, Campo Verde R: Payton Davis was one of the most dominant pass rushers in all of Arizona this season. For Campo Verde this season, she had a ridiculous 45 sacks and 59 flag pulls.


Stella Hulse, Chaparral DB: Stella Hulse was a ball hawk on defense for Chaparral this season. She had 20 interceptions and 16 flag pulls to help lead her team to the #2 seed in 5A. 


Alyssa Valencia, Marana R: A key component to the success of Marana this season was Alyssa Valencia. She was their lead rusher, having 28 sacks, 33 flag pulls, and two pass breakups this year. 


Cadence McCanless, Red Mountain LB: Cadence McCanless has proven time and time again why she is one of the best defensive players in Arizona. This year, she had 68 flag pulls, nine interceptions, and 10 pass breakups for Red Mountain. 


Caroline Workman, Desert Mountain DB: Caroline Workman was crucial for Desert Mountain’s defense this season. She had 15 interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and 43 flag pulls to get Desert Mountain into the playoffs. 


Isa Ady, XCP R: Isa Ady continues to be one of the most consistent and best pass rushers in the state. This season, she had 25 sacks, 34 flag pulls to help lead one of the best defenses in 6A. 


Mariah Ruelas, Corona Del Sol LB: Mariah Ruelas was all over the field this season for Corona Del Sol. She had 137 flag pulls, 11 sacks, and three interceptions as she showed off her versatility.

Cadence McCanless, Red Mtn: Cadence McCanless has proven time and time again why she is one of the best defensive players in Arizona. This year, she had 68 flag pulls, nine interceptions, and 10 pass breakups for Red Mountain. 


Mariah Ruelas, CDS: Mariah Ruelas was all over the field this season for Corona Del Sol. She had 137 flag pulls, 11 sacks, and three interceptions as she showed off her versatility. 


Elliana Madden, SJP2: Elliana Madden was doing anything she could to help her team on the defensive side of the ball this season. She had 110 flag pulls, seven interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. 


Ginny Wilson, Mountain View: Ginny Wilson has been commanding Mountain View’s defense for three seasons now. In 2025, she put together another solid campaign, having 43 flag pulls, three sacks, and four interceptions.


Jaylin Guerrero, Gilbert: Jaylin Guerrero was one of the best players on a solid Gilbert team this season. She had 69 flag pulls, two interceptions, and 13 pass breakups to lead her team into the 6A playoffs.

Cameron Mailloux, Mountain Ridge WR/DB: Cameron Mailloux had been a consistent two-way player for Mountain Ridge. In 2025, on offense, she had 1017 receiving yards, 17 touchdown receptions, then on defense had nine interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

Abigail Trillo, Valley Christian QB: Abigail Trillo was one of the deadliest quarterbacks to face this season. For Valley Christian, she threw for 2536 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes with only 5 interceptions to lead her team to the #5 seed in #3A


Alexa Montoya, Mesquite QB: Alexa Montoya, as a freshman, helped Mesquite get to the #6 seed in the 4A playoffs. She threw for 2154 passing yards, 48 passing touchdowns, with only four interceptions. Montoya also rushed for 884 yards and 17 touchdowns, showing off her dual-threat abilities. 


Charis Barrett, Valley Christian R/WR: Charis Barrett was dominant on both sides of the ball this season for Valley Christian. She had 45 sacks on defense, 437 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns on offense. 


Elliana Madden, SJP2 LB/WR: Elliana Madden was doing anything she could to help her team on the defensive side of the ball this season. She had 110 flag pulls, seven interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. On offense, she had 452 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. 


Kinsley McCarty, Eastmark ATH: Kinsley McCarty is one of the most skillful players in Arizona. She showed that once again this season, having 966 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. While on defense, she snagged six interceptions. 


Maggie Maneely, Prescott WR/DB: Maggie Maneely has been a consistent force on defense, and she carried that into this season. For Prescott this year, she had 15 interceptions, 21 pass breakups, and 70 flag pulls. On offense, she also had 702 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. 


Berlyn Hoyt, Paradise Honors LB: Berlyn Hoyt commanded the middle of the field every single game this year for Paradise Honors. She had 75 flag pulls, six sacks, and a remarkable 19 interceptions. 


Campbell Reader, Scottsdale Christian QB/DB: Campbell Reader helped Scottsdale Christian be one of the top teams in 3A this season. Leading the charge, she threw 2545 passing yards and had 53 total touchdowns. 


Gwenyth Schuern, ALAGN WR: Not only was Gwenyth Schuern one of the best wide receivers this season, but she also showed out on the defensive side. She had 1126 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. On defense, she had nine interceptions and eight sacks. 


Karstyn Richardson, Mingus Union WR: Karstyn Richardson was the number one target on Mingus Union this year and played incredibly. She hauled in 1028 receiving yards and eight touchdowns; she even threw two touchdown passes this year as well. 


Mikaela Oberstein, Eastmark WR/DB: Mikaela Oberstein was an impactful player on both sides of the ball for Eastmark. On offense, she had 1283 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, while on defense, she snagged 10 interceptions. 


Paige McCrabb, Eastmark QB: Paige McCrabb leads what is an explosive offense with Eastmark. In 2025, McCrabb threw for 3247 passing yards and had 38 total touchdowns. She was a key factor in Eastmark landing he #2 seed in 4A.

Amaiya Tice, Mountain Ridge QB: In her first season of playing AIA flag football, Amaiya Tice didn’t disappoint. She threw for 3335 passing yards and 37 touchdowns to lead Mountain Ridge to the #8 seed in 6A.

Amaya Moreno, Campo Verde QB: Amaya Moreno has continued to prove how good she is on the football field. She transferred to Campo Verde and has done the same thing. In 5 games, she has thrown for 1344 passing yards and had 28 total touchdowns.


Lacie Nemchick, Highland QB: Lacie Nemchick has been one of the best quarterbacks in Arizona in her first two years playing in high school. In six games at Highland, Nemchick threw 982 yards and had 22 total touchdowns. 


Aaliya Van Heel, Corona Del Sol WR/DB: Aaliya Van Heel played both sides this season for Corona Del Sol and contributed after sitting out the first half of the season. In six games, she had 249 receiving yards, two touchdown receptions, and on defense had 23 flag pulls and four interceptions. 


Claire McMahon, Campo Verde WR/DB: In just her limited time, Claire McMahon has made an impact already for Campo Verde. On offense, she had 207 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while on defense, she had one interception and 12 flag pulls.


Moriah Green, Hamilton WR: Moriah Green has been one of the most dynamic flag football players Arizona has seen. With Hamilton in just six games, she showed some of that off, having 274 receiving yards and six touchdown receptions.  



Coach of the Year


Past Winners: Matt Stone (‘24). 


Brian Coger, Campo Verde: Brian Coger has built a sustainable success at Campo Verde. He led his team to a state title in 2023, semi-finals in 2024, and now the #1 seed in 5A this season. Coger has had some of the best teams in Arizona in his three years at Campo Verde.


Kenny Golladay, Highland: Kenny Golladay has built Highland into a true contender in the 6A conference this season. He secured the #1 seed after leading his team to a 16-1 record this year. 


Matt Stone, Hamilton: Matt Stone is putting together the best run Arizona flag football has ever seen. In 2024, Hamilton went 17-0 and won the 6A title, and this season, he has them again at 17-0 with a solid chance at going back-to-back. 


Mikel Moreno, Queen Creek: Mikel Moreno is in his second year as the head coach for Queen Creek. Last season, they went 7-6 and lost in the first round. This year, Queen Creek went 11-1 and secured the #7 seed in the 6A playoffs.


Ryan Hart, Prescott: In the past two seasons, Ryan Hart has only lost three games. Last year, Prescott went 15-1 and lost their only game in the 4A championship. This season, he has his team at 14-2 with the #1 seed in 4A. 


Shaun Lara, Marana: Shaun Lara is debatably putting together his best season at Marana this season. Last year, he led his team to a 14-2 record but lost in the semifinals. This year, they are 15-0 and got the #2 seed in the 6A playoffs. 


Tyrone Johnson, Flagstaff: Tyrone Johnson has always made Flagstaff a good team, no matter the circumstances. This season, he has done the same as Flagstaff went 12-3 and secured the #5 seed in the 4A playoffs.
